2024年6月1日首场演出地点：全美第二大图书馆费城自由图书馆2024 is the 130 anniversary of the birth of the great master Mei,Lanfang and central memory of visit in the United States by Mei,lanfang’s performing troupe.

Mei Lanfang created a complete performing system and inherited the tradition in the arts deeply and had the courage to reform,innovate,develop and improve the overall level of Beijing Opera.So over a century, all the artists learn from his songs and performance.

In 1929, Mei Lanfang led his artists team to visit the United States. He devoted great shows through the country: New York, Washington DC,San Francisco, Chicago,Los Angeles, Seattle,San Diego, Honolulu…

The theatre plays were “The Drunken Beauty” “The Fisherman’s Revenge” “The King’s Parting with His Favourite” “The Beauty Xishi”……and more well known ones

His performing won great applause, University of S California and the Romona College conferred on him honorary doctorates of literature.

Through the whole year tour, Mei Lanfang and the great troupe owned friendship with many luminaries of the literary and art circles.His American tour was an outstanding event of the people’s cultural exchange,which introduced an art of Orient to the West, with result of not only promoting friendship between the two greatest countries but also setting the bridge between the East and West.
